Underwater
It’s another world down there - one full of wonder and awe.
As I see it, there are basically two types of diving - macho and macro. Generally, macho diving requires special and unique locations to keep the adrenalin pumping; macro diving can be done in your backyard, as it were. Another useful analogy is that of the hunter versus the gardener.
Macho diving requires the thrill of stalking big pelagic animals, diving into wrecks and wrestling with mask wrenching currents:
Coasting East Bali
I live in Bali and travel frequently to its eastern outposts. Over the years the standard of accommodation and hospitality there has improved immensely. I now have a number of favourite haunts along the way.

Truth in Advertising
What we promise is what we strive to deliver. No excuses, no equivocation and no shortcuts.
First, and most important, is safety. Meeting international safety standards does not mean sticking a couple of life-rings on the back of the boat.
Why Padang Bai?
As Marine Tourism professionals with extensive experience operating vessels in and around the Badung and Lombok Strait and Eastern Indonesia, we have an excellent understanding of this seaway and a healthy respect for the ocean.
Trawangan Practicalities
This small exotic island lies between blue corals and clear turquoise waters. Gili Trawangan is the perfect destination for those seeking total relaxation, excellent diving and romantic walks on its white sandy beaches. No motorized traffic is permitted on the island and you make your way around by walking and cycling, or rides on beautifically decorated pony carts called “cidomo”.
There are over 300 rooms available on the island and prices range from Rp 50,000 per double for basic “losmen” accommodation to $100 plus for the luxury of Hotel Vila Ombak and Vila Almarik.
